Last weekend I got a bit bored up (which is obvious), so, to kill my boredom I ordered a PC Fan. Within the week this packet reaches me and now what to do with it ? One, I don't have a PC at home and two, I can't put it in my office machine.
What NEXT ?? Well, I have to put it to some constructive usage and kill some more boredom. ;D So, following is what came out of my head... yes!! "A USB External Drive Cooler" Whoa!!!
I have been repeatedly instructed by many people that one must not watch movies and stuff directly from the drive since it gets heated up, resulting in corruption of data and that it should be well placed to let it easily dissipate heat. So, hoping this will solve it all. And in addition to that I get a nice decor for my home. Now, having it made, I was skeptical with the idea, that if it will actually work at all i.e. will it cool my drive ? Well, I need a thermometer to test that, which unfortunately I don't have, so I instead dangled my watch inside the section which will hold the drive.
And guess what, it did work, watch showed 33 Degree Centigrades out-side and it was 26.5 Degree Centigrades in-side the cooler. Seven & a half degree in centigrades is an appreciable drop. Wow! I can't get my eyes off it when it runs, how am I suppose to watch my movies now ??
